CHARSADDA: The Awami National Party (ANP) have strongly condemned the recent blasts in Bannu, which claimed the lives of innocent people. They criticized the government and security institutions, calling the incident a major failure in ensuring public safety.
ANP President Aimal Wali Khan, in a statement from Wali Bagh, Charsadda, expressed deep concern over what he termed as the federal and provincial governments’ negligence towards the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). He lamented the lack of attention given to the ongoing violence in the region, particularly in the southern districts, where residents live in constant fear.
He also criticized the mainstream media for its silence on such tragedies, calling it a "criminal act." He urged the Pakhtun community to unite, warning that their divisions and political disengagement were leading to further devastation.
ANP’s provincial president, Mian Iftikhar Hussain, echoed these concerns, stating that Pakhtuns were paying the price for flawed state policies. He denounced the loss of lives in Bannu, especially during the holy month of Ramazan, calling it a tragic and condemnable act.
He held those responsible for bringing back militants into the country accountable for the bloodshed, stressing that ANP had previously opposed their return but was ignored. He called for the proper implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) to ensure the security of the people.
